My Neighbors
My Neighbors is a painting about how I felt while living in Dreieich. It carries a sense of constant presence, of being watched, even when no words are spoken. The many eyes in the painting symbolize observation, tension, and the feeling that my personal space was being invaded.
The colors are strong and contrasting, sometimes almost aggressive. They reflect my inner tension, confusion, and the emotional pressure I experienced. The fragmented, layered forms mirror my feelings of insecurity, self-protection, and the effort to remain whole in an environment where I did not feel fully accepted.
hookup in the painting are moments of irony and pain. The small figures at the bottom act like silent witnesses—present, but without a voice. This is my way of showing how the outside world affected my inner balance.
My Neighbors is a personal story about living in a foreign space, about the tension between myself and my surroundings, and about the strength it took to express what could not be said in words.
